Part Planning

You can create assemblies from pieces used in the part fabrication process with part planning.

Click Play to watch the video:

  1. From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Part Planning .
  2. Select the manufactured item.
    The Part Planning dialog box appears with the manufactured item displayed.
  3. Click Compute.
    This computes a list of manufactured parts for planning. If you do not want to compute, click Cancel.
  4. Click to expand the List of manufactured parts for planning.
  5. Select a Manufactured Part.
    The Manufactured Part Points Id dialog box appears to show the points.
  6. Click Fit All In in the Manufactured Part Auxiliary Viewer panel.
    The view zooms in and the manufactured part's points are displaying. You can select or clear the points accordingly.
  7. Select more Manufactured Parts.
    The Manufactured Part Points Id dialog box appears with the points, alter accordingly.
  8. Click OK in the Part Planning dialog box when completed.
    Subparts and manufacturing representations generates under the manufacturing assembly.
  9. Right-click the Manufacturing Assembly and select Show All to expand the view to fit all the parts into the window.
