Creating a Data Readout Probe

You can create one or more data readout probes to keep track of the kind of data (and the order in which it appears) you want to see when you are running various types of simulations.

This task shows you how to:

Configure a Data Readout Probe

You can create a data readout probe.

  1. Click Data Readout .
  2. Select the item (that is, robot, device, mechanism, or manikin) about which you wish to receive data.
The item's Data Readout panel appears, with more than one tab. The tabs available in the dialog box varies depending on the item you selected. The examples that follow are data from a robot.

  3. Select the tab with the desired information to review.
See Data Readout Dialog Box for more information. This configuration of data readout options for the selected device is represented by a thumbnail that appears beneath Probes .

Customize Data Readout Output

You can customize the appearance and grouping of data within data readout.

Before you begin:

The Data Readout dialog box should be open.

  1. Click Customize on the Data Readout dialog box.
Check boxes appear in your tab.
  2. Use the check boxes to select the data you want to see.
  3. Pull out the tabs from the data readout panel that you want to see.

Play a Simulation with Data Readout Running

Once you have created the data readout probe, you can use it during a simulation.

  1. Click the Data Readout thumbnail you want to see. The dialog boxes remain up while the simulation becomes reactivated.
  2. Click Play in the Compass.
The data changes in the Data Readout panel as the robot moves. You can pause if required to review the data.
