Implementing Links Between a Resource and a System in the Resource Utilization Gantt Chart

You can implement links between a resource and a system in the Resource Utilization Gantt chart.

Display the System

  1. Create a data model with resource and system structures.

  2. Switch to the Equipment Allocation app.
  3. Define the resource-system scope for the root system and the root resource.
  4. Assign General System 2.1 to Robot1, using either dragging or the Assignement Manager.
  5. Launch the Resource Utilization Gantt chart on the Manufacturing Cell resource.
  6. Expand the Robot1 row.
    The Resource Utilization Gantt chart displays the system and its children under the assigned resource Robot1.

    Notes:
    • Operations that are not assigned to any resource (by implicit or explicit assignment) display in the Unassigned Operations section of the Resource Utilization Gantt chart.
    • The systems assigned to resources display along with their children.

Drag a System on a Resource

  1. Create a data model with resource and system structures.

  2. Switch to the Equipment Allocation app.
  3. Launch the Resource Utilization Gantt chart on the Manufacturing Cell resource.
  4. Expand the Robot1 row.
    The Resource Utilization Gantt chart displays the system and its children under the assigned resource Robot1.

  5. Select General System 2.1 under Robot1 and drag it to Worker2, without pressing Ctrl.
    The existing system link is removed from Robot1, and a new link is created between the system and the target resource.

  6. Select General System 2.1 under Worker2, and drag it to Worker1, while pressing Ctrl.
    The existing system link is removed from Robot1, a new link is created between the system and the target resource.

  7. Select General Operation 2.1 A under General System 2.1, and drag it to Robot1.
    The operation is assigned to Robot1.
