Defining a System-Item Scope

You can define a scope between a system reference and an item reference. This scope then lets you manage item assignments and analyze implement links.

Before you begin: Open your data, which must have a product with an associated Manufacturing Assembly structure.

About System-Item Scope
  1. Create a root system under the PPR Context.
  2. From the Tools section of the action bar, click B.I. Essentials .
    The B.I. Essentials panel appears.
  3. From the list, select Item Assignment Status.
    The items are in Non-assignable status, because there is no defined scope.

  4. From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Manage Scopes and select the root system.
    The Manage Scopes panel appears.
  5. Click Add and select the root Manufacturing Assembly.
    The System-Item scope is created. The items are in Assignable status.
