Deleting a System-Item Scope

You can delete a scope between a system reference and item reference. All assignments between items and systems/operations within this scope are also removed in this case.


Before you begin: Open content containing product Manufacturing Assembly and system structures in your app.

The root system contains System 1 and System 2. The Manufacturing Assembly structure comprises a number of Provided Parts.

  1. From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Manage Scopes .
    The Manage Scopes panel appears.
  2. Create a scope between the root Manufacturing Assembly and root system.
  3. Drag the Provide.1 Provided Part and drag it onto System 1
  4. Drag the Provide.2 Provided Part and drag it onto System 2.
    Loading operations are created under System 1 and System 2.

  5. Right-click the root system and select Manage Scopes.
    The Manage Scopes panel appears.
  6. In the panel, select the line corresponding to the item and click Remove .
    An information box appears indicating the items that will be unassigned if the scope is removed:
    • Provide.1 achieved by LoadingOperation.1 held by System 1.
    • Provide.2 achieved by LoadingOperation.2 held by System 2.
  7. Click OK to delete the scope.
