Create the Service Assembly Structure

In this step, you will create the Service Assembly structure by inserting predecessor assemblies.

  1. From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Service Assembly .

    Tip: The command remains active and lets you create several Service Assemblies.

  2. Click the root Service Assembly node.
    A Service Assembly node is created under the root Service Assembly node.

    In this scenario, the new Service Assembly node can be considered as being at the first-level in the tree.

  3. Click the first-level Service Assembly node twice.
    Two Service Assembly nodes are created on a second-level in the tree.
  4. Click one of the second-level Service Assembly nodes twice.
    Two Service Assembly nodes are created on a third-level in the tree.

    The service item structure is complete for the scenario.

  5. Click Service Assembly again to deactivate the command.
  6. Right-click the Service Assembly node on the first-level and select Properties.
    The Properties dialog box appears.
  7. Enter an appropriate name (Service Assembly L1, for example) for the Service Assembly in the Reference and Instance tabs.
  8. In the same way, enter appropriate names for the other Service Assemblies.
