Creating a Manufacturing Pattern

You can create a manufacturing pattern that can then be referenced in a drilling operation.

  1. In the Drill Fill section of the action bar, click Manufacturing Pattern .
    The Manufacturing Pattern panel appears. Names are proposed for the manufacturing pattern and its geometry. You can edit them.
  2. Click No point.
  3. Select the required points in the work area.

    The context toolbar provides the following options:

    • Set Pattern Direction allows you to select any planar surface and set the direction of the pattern.
    • Reverse Pattern Direction reverses the direction of the pattern.
    • Set Offset Values allows you to select points and assign offset values.
    • Split Pattern separates selected points and creates a new pattern.

    These options are also available in the Manufacturing View .

    As a part of this command,
  4. Double-click anywhere in the work area to validate the selection and return to the Manufacturing Pattern panel.
    The panel is updated with the number of selected points.
  5. Define other parameters (Jump distance , Top Element , Fixed Axis) as needed.
  6. Click OK to validate and close the Manufacturing Pattern panel.
    The machining pattern is created as Manufacturing Pattern.x. It is visible in the Manufacturing View (Sort by Patterns or Sort by Machining Features).
