Simulating a Spot Welding Operation

This tutorial describes how to simulate the spot operations in the task. This helps you to visualize the motion of the robot/weldgun during spot welding (firing weld gun).

Before you begin: You should have a a scenario loaded with a robot/weldgun and welding operation.
  1. To simulate a task with spot operations, you can use either of the following ways:
    • Select the robot task to be simulated and click Play in the Compass
    • Click Negotiated Simulation Player command in Live Simulation and select the task to be simulated.
  2. The Simulation player is displayed. Any of these buttons can be used to simulate the task. See Running Simulations

During the simulation of the task when the control comes to the spot operation, if the spot operation is for servo gun you will see the simulation of all the following moves embedded within spot operation.

    • Approach Move
    • Pressure Start Move
    • Pressure Move
    • Weld
    • Pressure End Move
    • Backup Move

If the spot operation is for an air gun, user would see the simulation of close gun, delay and open gun.
