What's New

This section describes the enhanced functionality in 3DWorkbook.

Enhanced Functionality

Simplified Navigation
The header bar now contains a breadcrumb control for context and navigation. The Operations panel can navigate to suboperations and can be collapsed and expanded as required.
2D + 3D View Display
The 3DWorkbook user can switch between 2D and 3D views of data that has been published using the Work Plan Publication (PND) application with the 2D+3D views option selected. (Initially available in the R2020x release in Functional Delivery FD04)
Orientation Viewer
The 3DWorkbook user can use the Orientation Viewer to view the orientation of an object with respect to a higher-level object. For example, the Orientation-Viewer can help the user visualize and understand the orientation of the current context, such as a single part with respect to the object in which it is used. (Initially available in the R2020x release in Functional Delivery FD02)
Display of Data Collection Plans
The 3DWorkbook user can display Data Collect Plans, including associated data collects, in the Details section (right-hand side panel) of 3DWorkbook. (Initially available in the R2020x release in Functional Delivery FD04)
0D Instructions Linked to 3D Views
The 3DWorkbook user can clearly see the relationship between 0D instructions (text, data collects, sign-offs, alerts) and 3D views. This is accomplished by highlighting the 3D views that are associated with a specific 0D instruction. This is a bidirectional capability that also allows the user to select a specific 3D view and to have the 0D instructions associated with that view highlighted. (Initially available in the R2020x release in Functional Delivery FD05)
Additional Options to Open Content
The 3DWorkbook user can load a process into 3DWorkbook by dragging a search result, by dragging from another widget, or by selecting content in the search results and choosing an application from the compass. (Initially available in the R2020x release in Functional Delivery FD08)
Reframe on Selected 3D Object
The 3DWorkbook user is able to view a part in a 3D model by reframing on the selected part. Reframing causes the selected part in the 3D model to be displayed more prominently in the 3D viewer. (Initially available in the R2021x release in Functional Delivery FD04)
Drag and Drop to Widgets
The 3DWorkbook user has the ability to drag work instruction process elements to ENOVIA Issue Management, as well as to other widgets. (Initially available in the R2020x release in Functional Delivery FD08)
Preferences
The 3DWorkbook user can configure the Orientation Viewer to be shown, as well as the default display of 2D+3D views, either as 2D or as 3D.
