RRS Server Setup

On the RRS server machine, you must create the DELMIA RCS directory structure and also copy the RCS module files into this directory structure.

Note: The DELMIA RRS product uses the same RRS server used by DELMIA D5 RRS products. If you already have RRS (RCS) servers set up for use with DELMIA D5 RRS products, you can skip this and the following sections.

  1. For each RCS module, if it does not already exist, create the following directories:
    <rcs_home_dir>/<RRS_Cntr_Type>/bin
    <rcs_home_dir>/<RRS_Cntr_Type>/data
  2. Copy the RCS module files obtained from the RCS manufacturer to the appropriate <rcs_home_dir>/<RRS_Cntr_Type>/bin directory. For example, all files for the FANUC RJ2 4.2 RCS module should be copied to the rcs_home_dir>/FANUC_RJ2__4.2/bin directory. Please see RRS server-specific pages in Customizing for possible server-specific instructions.
  3. If you plan to use the default directories where the RCS module loads and saves parameter files, i.e., <rcs_home_dir>/<RRS_Cntr_Type>/data/<device_name>, ensure that these directories exist for each RRS device referred to in the workcells that you will be using. Also ensure that you have read and write access to these directories. Please see RRS server-specific pages in the Customizing section for possible server-specific instructions.
  4. For Win32-based robot vendor RCS modules, there are two different versions of the DELMIA Windows RCS server available:
    • Interix-based DELMIA Windows RCS server
    • Win32-based DELMIA Windows RCS server

Interix-based DELMIA Windows RCS servers require the installation of Microsoft's Windows Services for Unix (SFU) version 3.5 before DELMIA's Windows RRS server executables can be run. This product can can be freely downloaded from Microsoft at the following address:
