Automatically Distributing Fasteners

You can distribute fasteners to resources based on a set of criteria and by comparing existing similar data. This is achieved by comparing a reference set of fasteners (whose associated operations are already assigned) and a another set of fasteners (whose operations are yet to be assigned) with distance and angle as criteria. Once compared, pairs of matches are created. For each pair, the assigned resource of reference data is assigned to the compared data.

  1. From the Setup section of the action bar, click Compare and Transform .
The Compare and Transform dialog box appears.

  2. In the Reference data section, click and a general or point fastening operation in the tree.
The title of the dialog box becomes Auto Distribute Fasteners, and the fasteners associated with the selected operation(s) and their assigned resource appear in the Reference data list.

Impemented weld fasteners are added to the Reference data list, and the name of the robot is listed for each.

Implemented design fasteners are added to the Reference data list, and the resource assigned to the selected operation is listed for each.

  3. In the Matching data section, click and a general or point fastening operation in the tree that has a point fastening operation that is not yet distributed and not assigned to a resource.
The fasteners associated with the selected operation(s) appear in the Matching data list.

  4. Expand the Options tab.

  5. With the default options set, click Compare.
The Results list is populated with the computed results.

Tags and fasteners are color coded based on the Unmatched, Matching, and Matching (multiple) color definitions in the Options tab.

  6. In the Options tab, click Distribution options and select required options.

  7. Click Distribute.

Operations corresponding to matching fasteners are assigned to the resource of the corresponding reference fastener.
