Launching the Resource Generator During Installation

You can launch the LegacyCustoGenerator application during the installation process. This application will generate a default mapping allowing you to expedite the deployment process.

Important:
  • You can also launch the LegacyCustoGenerator application from the command line (see Launching the Resource Generator from the Command Line).
  • The Legacy server must have been installed before Optional Installation - Exchanges Management, since mapping generation requires connection to the server.
  • This function can only create a default mapping. Customized mapping is not possible.
  • Only one legacy provider mapping can be generated per installation.

  1. When you are prompted to install roles during the installation process, select Optional Installation - Exchanges Management and a native apps-based role, and then click Next:

A dialog box is displayed showing a list of the available legacy sources and prompting you to choose the one you want to use for setup purposes.
  2. Select the provider for which you want to generate the default mapping and click Next.
    A dialog box appears requesting:
    • user name
    • password
    • server URL
    • prefix
  3. Complete the parameters required for each field in the dialog box.
  4. If you want the Resource Generator report to be produced on process completion, check the box at the bottom of the dialog box.
A report containing provider-specific information is displayed. An example is shown in Launching the Resource Generator from the Command Line.
