Context
The options for the interference context are as follows:
- Inside Groups
- You can use Inside Groups to define the interference simulation between the parts or products belonging to one group. You can select one or more groups. However, the computation is done within the objects of the same group.
When you apply engineering connection specifications, the interference is detected between the parts of the individual group.
- Groups Against Groups
- You can use Group Against Groups to define the interference simulation between the parts or products belonging to several different groups. The computation is done between combination of groups. All parts of one group are checked against all parts of other groups.
For example, if we have three groups: Group1, Group2, and Group3 the system will check:
- All parts of Group1 against all parts of Group2
- All parts of Group1 against all parts of Group3
- All parts of Group2 against all parts of Group3
Note:
Combination between the parts belonging to the same group is not checked to avoid unwanted computation and interference generation.
You can select one or more products within each group.
When you apply engineering connection specifications, the interference is detected between the parts of the different groups.
- Group1 against Context
- You can use Group1 against context option to define the interference simulation between the selected object (parts or products), against the remaining objects (parts and products) in the assembly context. You can select one or more products within a selected group. When this option is selected, you do not have to select a second group.
When you apply engineering connection specifications, the interference is detected between the parts of the group1 and parts belonging to rest of the context.
- Defining Groups
-
- Add new group
- This option allows you to create one group at a time. Using this option, if you select the Product or Parts node in the graphic area or the tree, all the child objects are automatically added to a new group.
- Add more groups
- The option allows you to create multiple groups, in one selection, by selecting the product or part nodes. Each product selected is added as a separate group in the context.
- Delete all groups
- This option allows you to delete all the groups in the context.
- Group Operators
| Allows you to add more objects to the selected group. |
| Allows you to remove objects from the selected group.
|
| Allows you to delete the selected group. |
| Highlights the selected group in the graphic area. |
