Creating Constants

You can create constants at the resource level or inside a task.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin: To perform this procedure, you must have an organizational resource containing a robot, a tool device, or a human.

Create a Global Constant

You can associate constants to a resource.

  1. Select a resource and open the Sequencing tab.
  2. From the commands at the bottom of the panel, click Create a Global Constant .
    The Global Constant dialog box appears.
  3. Fill the parameters to create a constant of integer type.
    Tip: Do not forget to enter a value otherwise the constant appears in error.
  4. Expand the content of Resource Entities and select the Constant tab.

    The new constant is listed as a resource entity.

  5. To modify a constant, double-click the value to change in the constant row.
  6. Enter the new value and press Enter.

Create a Local Constant

You can create a constant as a task parameter.

  1. Select a task in the Tree.
  2. Right-click the task and select Edit.
    The Sequencing Editor appears. At the bottom of the Usable frame, the commands to create local entities is available.
  3. Click Create Constant .
    The Constant dialog box appears:
  4. Fill the parameters to create a variable of Boolean type, then click OK.
  5. In the Usable frame, expand the content of the Constants row.

    The new constant is now available to be used in the Sequencing Editor.

    Tip: If a constant has been defined at the resource level, it appears in the list prefixed by the resource icon.
