Changing Maturity Status of Documents

A document is promoted through a sequence of states as it moves through its lifecycle. You can change the maturity status of documents by accessing the Change Maturity command from the Edit menu and Life cycle toolbar in Product Finder and search results.

Note: It is not possible to promote a CDM document to the next sequence state of maturity.

Before you begin: You must be having the designated role of a Leader to change the maturity status of a document.
  1. To search for documents, type a search string in the Search of the topbar and click Search .
A list of documents corresponding to your search criteria appear.
  2. Select a document.
  3. Right-click the selected document and click Properties.
    The Properties dialog box appears.
  4. Type a user name having the designated role of a Leader in the Approver text box, to change the maturity status of the document.
Note: If the Approver is not set for the selected document, the change maturity fails.
  5. Click OK.
  6. For the selected document, click Change Maturity from the Lifecycle section of the action bar.
The Change Maturity dialog box appears.
  7. In the Choose Transitionselection box, select one of the transition and click OK.
A success message appears. The Current Status is changed (promoted or demoted) to the next state, and the selected document state is changed accordingly. If the promotion is not successful, a warning message appears indicating that the maturity transition failed.

Notes:
  • In the case of multi-selected documents, if the transition request for one fails, no transitions are processed.
  • You can change the current status of the document to Release, if you are designated the role of a Reviewer.
