Deleting Documents

You can delete documents of both Document and engineering document type from 3DEXPERIENCE using the Delete command from the action bar.

  • Deleting engineering documents - To delete a engineering document attached to an object, you must detach the document from the object and then delete the document from the search results.
  • Deleting Documents - You can delete a document that is the most recent revision by simply detaching it from the object as long as it is not attached to any other object.

Before you begin: engineering documents must be detached from all parts and references.

You must have P&O rights to lock and delete a document.

  1. Select an engineering document from the search results and click Delete from the Lifecycle section of the action bar. You can also right-click the document in the search results and select Delete... .

The Delete dialog box appears, which summarizes the documents to be deleted.

If there is a conflict that prevents the deletion, for example, if the engineering document is attached to an object, an error message appears. Click on the error for more information about the conflict and the possible ways to resolve it.

  2. Click OK .
    The engineering document is deleted.
