Creating a 3D Axis

3D Axis lets you create a 3D axis or an infinite line from a point selected in a sketch.

  1. Select a point in the sketch.

    Tips:
    • You can also right-click the point and select Point.x object > 3D Axis to create the 3D axis instantly.
    • You can select several points to create several 3D axes.

The output axis is created using the point selected in the sketch and the support plane of the sketch.

  2. Exit Sketcher and visualize the output axis in the 3D area.

The axis is perpendicular to the sketch support plane and passes through the selected point.

Tip: Rotate the view to make the 3D axis appear infinite.

  3. Optional: Double-click the OutputAxis.1 feature in the tree.
You can change the input of the 3D axis in the Output Axis Definition dialog box.
