Creating a 3D Plane

3D plane lets you create a 3D plane from a line selected in a sketch.

  1. Select a line in the sketch.
    Tips:
    • You can also right-click the line and select Line.x object > 3D Plane to create the 3D plane instantly.
    • You can select several lines to create several 3D planes.

The 3D plane is created using the line selected in the sketch and the support plane of the sketch.

  2. Exit the Sketcher app and visualize the created plane in the 3D area.

The plane is perpendicular to the sketch support plane and passes through the selected line. The point origin of the plane is the middle of the selected line.

  3. Double-click the OutputPlane.x feature in the tree.
You can change the input for the 3D plane in the Output Plane Definition dialog box.
