Creating Output Features

Output Feature lets you create a feature which is exposed and updated independently from the sketch within the work area.

Before you begin: Create a sketch and a 3D shape.
  1. Double-click the sketch to edit it.
  2. Click Output Feature .
  3. Select the 2D element.

Tip: You can also right-click the object and select Selected.x object > Output feature to create the output feature instantly.

An output feature is created as a standard element, but it is viewed with thicker graphics in the Sketcher.
  4. Right-click the 2D element and select Properties.
  5. Click Graphic in the Properties dialog box and change the color and the line type to distinguish the selected element from other elements.
  6. Exit Sketcher.
The output feature can now be visualized with the applied properties.
  7. Use other apps such as Generative Shape Design, to create different 3D features from the output features.

Note: To hide or show the output elements each time you hide or show the sketch corresponding to the output elements, in Me > Preferences>App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Sketcher > Sketcher, under Sketch Plane select Hide or show outputs at the same time as the sketch check box. This is not applicable while editing the sketch.
