Creating Chamfers

Chamfer lets you create a chamfer on the corner.

  1. Select one of following chamfer options in the Tools Palette:
    OptionDescription
    Trim All Elements Trims both the selected edges for the chamfer.
    Trim First Element Trims the first selected edge for the chamfer.
    No Trim Creates a chamfer without trimming any of the selected edges.
    Standard Lines Trim Trims the edges up to their intersection.
    Construction Lines Trim Trims the edges but creates construction lines till the intersection of the edges.
    Construction Lines No Trim Creates construction lines till the intersection of the edges without trimming the edges.
  2. Select the two lines. Once selected, both lines are highlighted.

    The two elements are connected by a line representing the chamfer which moves as you move the pointer. This lets you vary the dimensions of the chamfer whose values appear in the Tools Palette.

  3. Click to select where to create the chamfer.

The chamfer is created depending upon the selected option.
