Projecting 3D Elements onto the Sketch Plane

Project 3D Elements lets you project edges of the elements you select from the work area onto the sketch plane.

  1. In the Element(s) to project box, select a face of the 3D object as the reference element.
  2. In the Near element box, select the side face of the reference element.
  3. Optional: Select the No Canonical Curve check box to create a complex curve instead of a canonical curve.
  4. Click OK.

The edges are projected onto the sketch plane. These projections are yellow .

Important: The marks of the projection are associated to the 3D geometry. Removing a single mark leads to removal of all the associated marks. To avoid this you can project elements using select boundary edges.
