Translating Elements

Translate lets you move the elements to a different position and create its copies at specified locations.

  1. In the Translate dialog box, in the Instance(s) box, select the number of instances to be created.
  2. Optional: Keep Duplicate check box selected to create copies of the selected 2D elements.
  3. Optional: Select the Internal and External check boxes under Keep constraints.

These options specify that you want to preserve the internal and external constraints applied to the selected elements in the translation.

  4. Optional: Select the Mode check box.

Note: If you clear the Mode check box, the geometry is translated without preserving the original constraints mode.

  5. Select the elements to be translated using trap selection.
  6. Click to indicate the translation vector's start point and specify the required value in the Length box and press Enter.

You can also define the translation length in the work area using the pointer.

  7. Click to indicate the translation vector ending point.
The selected geometry is translated and copied to the specified location.
  8. Click the required constraint in the context toolbar.
The translated geometry is constrained accordingly.
