Analyzing Use-edges

You can analyze the use-edges resulting from projection and intersection operations you explicitly performed but also from implicit operations. Either a global or individual status is provided using which you can correct any problem stated in the status.

Before you begin: Create a simple pad and project one or more edges of the pad.

About Analyzing Use-edges
  1. From the Analysis section of the action bar, click Sketch Analysis.

The Sketch Analysis dialog box appears. It contains three tabs: Geometry, Use-edges and Diagnostic.

  2. Select the Use-edgestab.
The information on Use-edges tab displays a full diagnosis of a sketch geometry. It provides a global analysis of the sketch as a whole, and specifies whether individual geometrical elements in the sketch are under-constrained (under-defined), over-constrained (over-defined) or iso-constrained (well defined):

You can see that all construction and intersection elements for this 3D shape have a valid status so you do not have to do anything.
