Exporting and Importing Logical References

You can export a logical reference with all the related proposed solutions.

Export Logical References and Product References

You can export a logical reference or a product reference with a proposed solution in a 3dxml file.

Before you begin: Create a logical reference on the server with instances having a proposed solution set.
  1. Select the required logical reference and click and select Export.
    The Export dialog box opens.
  2. Verify the details shown in the Export dialog box and click OK.
    The export report is generated. It contains the proposed solution relation and the connected physical products along with the other details of the logical reference.     Note: If a physical reference structure is already exported in the CATIA session when you export a logical reference structure, logical reference export xml contain the details of a physical product structure.

Import Logical References

You can import a logical reference with solutions as a reference.

Before you begin: Create a logical reference with a proposed solution in a 3dxml file.
  1. Select the required logical reference and click and select Import.
    The Import dialog box opens.
  2. In the Filename , search for the required 3dxml file and select As Reference check box and click OK.
    Notes:
    • All 3dxmls for a logical reference with a proposed solution and product reference to be imported as As Reference only.
    • Import a physical reference 3dxml before importing a logical reference 3dxml file.
    • If multiple proposed solutions are exported in multiple product reference 3dxml files, import all those product reference 3dxmls before proceeding Logical Reference 3dxmls.
    • A logical reference is imported and connected to a proposed solution if a product reference is already imported. You get an error message if a product reference 3dxml is not imported.
