Locking Logical Reference

You can lock or unlock a logical reference and a logical instance.

  1. Right-click the required logical reference and do one of the following.
    • Select Lock to lock the logical reference so that other users cannot work on it.
    • Select Unlock to unlock the logical reference that was previously locked so that other users can work on them.
    The Lock dialog box opens.
    Note: In case of a root object, Lock dialog box does not open. The root object is locked.
  2. Click Ok .
    The logical reference is locked or unlocked and the lock status of the logical reference is displayed in the grid view.
    Notes:
    • You see the Lock or Unlock commands irrespective of whether the object is locked or not. The action is completed or shows an appropriate error message based on user access.
    • In case only the instance is locked the lock status information is not shown in the grid view.
    • Reference and instance properties also display the lock owner details.
    • This option is enabled for multiple reference objects.
      • In case a root is selected with instance references, system displays the panel for Lock/Unlock.
      • Lock/Unlock Reference - option is applied to a root and instance reference.
      • Lock/Unlock Instance - option is applied to instance reference only. The root object is ignored.
