Launching Design with Solid Edge from Web 3DCompass

You can connect Solid Edge® to 3DEXPERIENCE using the 3DCompass.

Before you begin: Ensure that:
  • Solid Edge® is installed.
  • Design with Solid Edge is installed on your computer.
  • 3D Component Designer for PLM Services +UEG-Design with Solid Edge business roles are assigned to you.
  • You are assigned the user credentials.
  1. Log in to 3DEXPERIENCE platform from a web browser.
  2. Click the Compass, select 3DComponent Designer role, and select Solid Edge®.
    Solid Edge® opens.
  3. Log in to 3DEXPERIENCE from the MySession task pane.
    Notes:
    • If you have already started the Solid Edge®, the opened Solid Edge® session is used and connected to 3DEXPERIENCE.
    • If you have installed Solid Edge® on your computer, the latest supported installed version of Solid Edge® is connected to 3DEXPERIENCE.
    • After installing Design with Solid Edge, when you open it for the first time, you can view the icons for 3DEXPERIENCE and IEFClientWorkspaceService in the notification area. These icons indicate that you have connected Solid Edge® to 3DEXPERIENCE.
