Installing Design with Solid Edge Client (On Cloud)

This task explains how to install the Design with Solid Edge client on cloud.

Before you begin: Ensure that you have the 3D Component Designer and Collaborative Designer for Solid Edge roles in addition to Collaborative Business Innovator and Collaborative Industry Innovator roles.
  1. Log in to the Design with Inventor application with the appropriate user.
  2. From the Compass, search Collaborative Designer for Solid Edge role, and launchDesign with Solid Edge.

    You may have to install a compatible version of 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher if it is not already installed on your client computer.

  3. Click Download 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher > Run > Next.

    You can browse and select the folder where files are installed.

  4. Click Install to install files in the selected folder.
  5. Click Finish to exit the setup wizard.
    3DEXPERIENCE Launcher is installed. A compass icon appears in the task bar (with tooltip as 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher).
  6. Navigate to the browser (Welcome to the 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher dialog box) and click Continue.
  7. In the 3DEXPERIENCE Installation dialog box, select Install All Roles Containing Solid Edge.

    Complete the installation procedure by specifying an installation directory path.

    UEG - Collaborative Designer for SolidEdge is installed.
  8. Click Close.
  9. Navigate to the browser and start Design with Solid Edge.
    1. When connecting to the 3DEXPERIENCE server for the first time using Solid Edge.

      • From Compass, search Collaborative Designer for Solid Edge Role > Launch Design with Solid Edge.
      • Solid Edge is started and 3DEXPERIENCE PLM Services are automatically connected to the 3DEXPERIENCE server.

    2. For subsequent logins, you can follow one of the following methods:

      • From Compass, search Collaborative Designer for Solid Edge Role > LaunchDesign with Solid Edge.
      • Start using the 3DEXPERIENCE desktop shortcut, which has been created for Design with Solid Edge from the Compass using the Inventor app.

  • Define the NLS related setting as follows.

    Set language = NLS Language in SLEUPSSettings.ini file and in MySession preferences. Relaunch and relogin to the connector.
