Appendix: Assigning User Roles and Creating Collaborative Space

The PLM Administrator must perform the following additional steps on the server to make Design with Creo Parametric work.

This task shows you how to:

Assign Roles to a User

It is required to assign the role of Collaborative Designer for Creo Parametric to each user who uses the Design with Creo Parametric app.

  1. Go to the web browser and log in to 3DEXPERIENCE as admin_platform.
  2. Select the Compass.
  3. Under the role of Platform Manager, select the Members Control Center app.

    Note: The admin_platform must have the role of a Platform Manager to assign the roles to other users.

    The Members Control Center app opens the Dashboard. The list of members and the available roles, along with its utilization percentage, appears.
  4. To view and assign roles to the user, select the information icon against the user name.

    By default, you can only see their assigned roles.

  5. To see all the roles and their assignment availability, change the view to View All.
  6. To grant a required role to this selected member, select the accompanying check box.

    Required Role for using the Design with Creo Parametric Connector.

Create Collaborative Space

You can create a Collaborative Space.

  1. Go to the web browser and log in to 3DEXPERIENCE as admin_platform.
  2. Select the Compass.
  3. Select the Collaborative Space Control Center app under the role of Platform Manager.
  4. Click New Collaborative Space to create the Collaborative Space.
  5. Enter a title (name) for the Collaborative Space.
  6. Add users giving them Leader, Author, or Contributer permissions.

    Only users with Leader and Author permissions can create UG type objects using the Design with Creo Parametric app.

  7. Click Create to create the Collaborative Space.
