Installing the Design with Creo Parametric Client

The installation of the Creo Parametric Connector Client is part of the installation process of the XCAD Design Connectors Common build.

The install wizard takes you through a sequence of install steps to install and configure the IEF Client in lite mode and the Creo Parametric Connector Client.

Note: The PTC Creo Parametric Toolkit is no longer required for installation of the Design with Creo Parametric Connector client. A Connector License key is not required for installing the Creo Parametric Connector Client.

  1. Choose the installation directory and select Next.
  2. Select the UDO - Collaborative Designer for Creo Parametric Extension (formerly UEP - Design with Creo Parametric Extension) component for installation and select Next.
    Information about the component selection appears.
  3. Select Install.

    The installation process starts extracting files on the local machine automatically. The XCAD Design Connectors Common build downloads the Design with Creo Parametric Client installer in the folder [XCAD Design Connectors installation folder location> \Win_b64\UEPC. For example, C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\B424xcadconnectors\Win_b64\UEPC.

    You can either continue with the installation or delay the installation by exiting the integration installation and starting it later by executing PLMCollaborationServicesforCreoParametricClient.exe.

    Note: Silent installation of Design with Creo Parametric Client impossible.

    The Introduction window appears with information regarding the install process.
  4. Select Next.
  5. Choose which version of Creo Parametric to install and select Next.
    After you choose the proper version of Creo Parametric, the installer prompts you for the location of the Creo Parametric path.
  6. Enter the location of Creo Parametric and select Next.
    Options appear for creating the product shortcut for easy entry.
  7. To create a shortcut during the install process, select On the Desktop.
    A desktop shortcut called Start UPSCreo appears on the desktop.
  8. Select Install.

    A progress indicator shows the status of the install. On completion, information regarding the install appears. Review for any installation errors or warnings.

  9. Select Done.
    The Design with Creo Parametric Client install is now complete.
  10. From the Compass, open Design with Creo Parametric to configure the Design with Creo Parametric Connector to connect to a specific 3DEXPERIENCE server.
  11. Launch the Design with Creo Parametric client.
    The Creo Parametric app opens by adding the 3DEXPERIENCE tab to the Creo Parametric toolbar and you need to then log on to the Connector to connect to 3DEXPERIENCE.
