Native Derived Output Support

The Design with NX uses the native CAD tool APIs to programmatically generate these files during checkin based on the user's preferences and selections. The newly generated files appear in the same directory as the Design with NX files and on completion of the checkin, their removal depends on the value of delete_on_checkin in the UGDerivedOutputOptions.

Note: For Assembly designs, there is no support for Derived Output generation.

The Design with NX supports the following native derived outputs with the required additions to the Global Configuration Object.

Parts Drawings
JPEG CGM
TIF IGES
GIF PDF
CGR PLT
STEP_AP242 DWG
IGES
PNG
LINKABLE OUTPUT

Unigraphics allows some level of control over the generation of JPEG, TIF, GIF, PNG, and CGM files. For more information, see UGDerivedOutputOptions.

The enhanced Design with NX app supports the model validation using the Check-Mate. The Design with NX Check-Mate functionality requires an Design with NX Check-Mate license to set up and execute tests. Set up and configure the Check-Mate tests in Design with NX. Check-Mate generates an .xml file and a .xsl-style sheet file, which after checkin, becomes a derived output. This feature requires the enablement of certain configurations on the Design with NX Client side also.

Linkable Output, Exact geometry can be asynchronously generated for Design with NX Parts and Part Family Members to support SIMULIA's powerful simulation capabilities and other down-stream applications.
