Appendix: Assigning User Roles and Creating Collaborative Space

The PLM Administrator must do the following additional steps at the server end to make the Design with NX app work.

This task shows you how to:

Assign Roles to a User

Assign the role of a Collaborative Designer for NX to each user using the Design with NX app.

  1. Go to the web browser and log in to 3DEXPERIENCE as admin_platform.
  2. Select the Compass.
  3. The admin_platform must have the role of Design with NX to assign the roles to other users. Select the Members Control Center app under the role of Design with NX.
  4. Select the Information icon against the user's name to view and assign roles to the user.

    By default, you can only see your own assigned roles.

  5. To see all the roles and their assignment availability, change the view to View All.
  6. Select the check box against the required role to grant it to this selected member.

    The required role or license for being able to use the Design with NX Connector Client is UDN Collaborative Designer for NX.

Create Collaborative Space

You can create Collaborative Space.

  1. Go to the web browser and log in to 3DEXPERIENCE as admin_platform.
  2. Select the Compass.
  3. Select the Collaborative Spaces Control Center app under the role of Design with NX.
  4. Click New Collaborative Space to create the Collaborative Space.
  5. Enter a title (name) for the Collaborative Space.
  6. Add users giving the Leader, Author, or Contributor permissions. Only users with Leader and Author permissions can create UG type objects using the Design with NX app.
