About Security Attribute Groups

Attributes define information such as watermarking, statements, and notices that are related to objects classified within a specific security class. Security Groups and Security Group Attributes are applied to security classes.

Important: Do not use IP Control Attributes, Security Control Attributes, or Export Control Attributes for any other class type except for the following that are automatically connected by default:

Environment: On premises only

Several predefined security control attributes are applied to a security attribute group:

  • IP Control Attributes - Data Rights Code, Data Rights Expiration Data, Data Rights Statement Text
  • Security Control Attributes - Destruction Notice, Distribution Statement Notice, Distribution Statement

Warning: Only use the Process Access Classification attribute for IP Security Classes. Errors develop if you use this attribute for any other object type.
Important: Do not remove default attribute groups from IP Protection Management. An error will occur if the default attribute groups are deleted. You can remove attributes from default groups, except for Process Access Classification, that is required for IP asset protection.
Note: The Process Access Classification value can only be modified by an IP Security Manager.

On the cloud only: One predefined security control attribute, Process Access Classification, is applied to a security attribute group.
