Configuring the Source Type

You can edit the request template to configure the source information in the request template. If the source type is configured in the request template, you can add multiple source information attributes to the component request.

Note: If a source type is not configured in the selected request template, the source information section does not display and you cannot add source information.


Before you begin: Open the request template Properties tab. For more information, see Opening Request Templates.

Creating Request Templates
  1. From the Properties tab page toolbar, click Enable Edit.
  2. Click inside the Source field to view the source types.
    By default, the Request Source type tree displays.
  3. Expand the Request Source tree to list the default source subtypes created for the Request Source.

    The following default subtypes and attributes are available:

    Component Request Source Manufacturer
    Manufacturer Part Number
    Part Source
    Part Source URL
    Attachments
    Source Change Notice Manufacturer
    Manufacturer Part Number
    Part Source
    Part Source URL
    Notification Description
    Reason for Notification

    Last Buy Date
    Last Ship Date
    Equivalent Alternate Product
    Attachments

  4. Select a single source type.

    You can create additional multilevel subtypes from the Request Source type using the Data Model Customization app. For more information, see Installation and Setup | Customize | 3DEXPERIENCE Platform | 3DSpace Data Model | Data Model Customization.

    Note: You can only create subtypes of the Request Source type. You cannot create subtypes of the default subtypes.

  5. Click Save.

The Source Type on the New Component Request wizard is prefilled as configured from the request template. The Source information attributes in the New Component Request wizard are populated based on the source type configured in the request template.
