Creating Manufacturer Equivalent Items

A Supplier Item Manager can create a manufacturer equivalent item.

Before you begin: Supplier Item Qualification must be open on the dashboard.

  1. To create a manufacturer equivalent item, do one of the following:

    Context Actions
    Home Page Click New Manufacturer Equivalent Item
    Manufacturer Equivalent Items

  2. Enter these details:

    Field Name Description
    Title Enter the required title of the manufacturer equivalent item.
    Manufacturer Part Number Enter a required unique manufacturer part number.
    Manufacturer Click to search for and select the required manufacturer from Supply Network Management. For more information, see Searching for Manufacturers.
    Note: Only Active companies display.
    Warning: It is not recommended to change the supplier company name that is used in the manufacturer equivalent item. Changing the supplier company name could result in the loss of data.
    Description Describe the manufacturer equivalent item.
    Part Source Enter the source of the part.
    Part Source URL Enter the part source URL.
    General Qualificaton
    Comments Enter any comments related to the qualification.

  3. Click Create.
    The manufacturer equivalent item is created in the In Work lifecycle state. You can use the manufacturer equivalent item in the In Work state.

When a manufacturer equivalent item is created, a General Qualification is automatically created in the In Work lifecycle state and connected to the manufacturer equivalent item.
