Managing Backlog Items in a Portfolio Family Roadmap

You can manage the backlog of items for a portfolio version family by planning backlogged items for a specific future portfolio versions. Supported items include requirements and 3DSwym community ideas.


Before you begin: Open any portfolio version in the family.
  1. In the portfolio version's identity card, click Menu > Roadmap.

    The roadmap opens in a new panel. The first column is the backlog. There is another column for each revision of the portfolio version.

  2. To add items to the backlog, do one of the following:

    Context Actions
    3DSearch results Do one of the following:
    • Select one or more items in the 3DSearch results, then click OK.
    • Select one or more items then drag and drop them into the Backlog Items column.
    Item listed in another app, such as Requirements Structure Editor or 3DSwym Select one or more items then drag and drop them into the Backlog Items column in Portfolio Definition.
    Roadmap panel
    1. From the page toolbar, click Search & Add.
    2. Select one or more items in the 3DSearch results, then click OK.

  3. To add backlogged items to the column for a specific portfolio version revision, do one of the following:

    Context Actions
    Item in Backlog Items column Select one or more items then drag and drop them into the portfolio version revision column.
    Item listed in another app such as Requirements Structure Editor or 3DSwym Select one or more items then drag and drop them into the portfolio version revision column.

    1. Click in the column.
    2. Select one or more items in the 3DSearch results, then click OK.

  4. Optional: To remove an item from the roadmap, select the item, then click Remove.
  5. Optional: To hide the Backlog Items column while you work with items in the roadmap, click Hide Backlog Pane.
  6. To return to the portfolio version view, click Back.
