About Sharing Content

The ability to share content enhances the regular access for users. It provides more specific access for selected content depending on the business process criteria. It applies to selected content that could belong to different collaborative spaces.

Use the Share command or the Sharing page for an object to share it with others.

To share content, you must meet ANY ONE of the following criteria:

  • You are the person that owns the content AND your credentials match the collaborative space and organization that owns the content. That is, you must have at least the Author responsibility to share a Physical Product as Engineering Definition content.
  • You are assigned the Leader responsibility for the collaborative space and organization that owns the content.
  • You are assigned the Owner responsibility for the collaborative space that owns the content.
  • You are assigned the Administrator responsibility.
Adding, removing, or modifying shared access changes the Modification Date of the shared content. You can share content in any maturity state.
