Customizing 3DNotifications

Notifications alert you about events that involve or interest you. For events in your apps and services, some notifications are automatic, and some you can subscribe to. For example, you might receive a notification when someone comments on one of your posts, shares a dashboard with you, or assigns you a task. You can control how you receive your notifications for each supported event. You can receive emails for certain events, and access the 3DNotification Center for others. The 3DNotification Center groups similar notifications. For example, if one of your posts is commented on several times, the related notification includes the number of comments.

This task shows you how to:

Filter Notifications in the 3DNotification Center

You can filter the list of notifications displayed in the 3DNotification Center.

  1. Click to filter the list of notifications using one or more of the criteria below:

    When Select a date range.
    What Enter up to five keywords. Press Enter or Tab to add a new keyword.
    Who Click the field, and select one or more notification settings, such as Share or access rights modification of a dashboard.
    Where
    • If you are a member of several platforms, select the platform of interest from the list.
      Note: If you have access to several platforms, select Preferences > Platform Selection > All Platforms to make sure you can select one among those available.
    • Archive Notifications older than 90 days are archived. Select this check-box to include archived notifications in your filter.
  2. Click Filter to apply your filters or Reset to clear them.

    Note: Your filter criteria are kept even if you refresh the page,log out then log in or your session expires.

  3. Click Preferences to further filter your notifications:

    Show All Displays read and unread notifications.
    Show Unread Only Displays unread notifications only.
    Show Important Only Displays the notifications that you have previously marked as important only.
    Mark all as read Available only if you did not apply any filters. Marks all your notifications as read.
    Mark all filtered as read If you previously applied a filter, marks all displayed notifications as read.
    Mark all as unread Available only if you did not apply any filters. Marks all your notifications as unread.
    Mark all filtered as unread If you previously applied a filter, marks displayed notifications as unread.
    Delete All Available only if you did not apply any filters. Deletes all your notifications.
    Delete Filtered Notifications If you previously applied a filter, deletes all displayed notifications.
    Platform Selection You may select either of the following:
    • Current Platform. Activates the notifications provided by the apps available in the platform selected in the top bar.
      Note: If this option is selected, only the current platform can be selected in the Where filter. Select the All Platforms option here below instead.
    • All Platforms. If you have access to several platforms, activates the notifications provided by the apps of all your platforms.

    Note: Your preferences are kept even if you refresh the page, log out then log in or your session expires.

Manage Notifications

Every app and service has specific events that support notifications. You can enable or disable notifications in the 3DNotification Center. For all notifications from an app or service, you can decide to use the 3DNotification Center alone or with email, with an additional option of adding a browser alert.

  1. Click Preferences to see the list of your apps that have notifications.
  2. Select an app.
  3. In the list of the supported app's notification events, select the events for which you want to receive notifications.
  4. For each app choose the type of notification:

    Center



    Displays a notification in the 3DNotification Center.

    3DNotification Center is always available.

    Alert



    Displays an alert in the top bar when the 3DNotification Center is closed.

    Alerts are on by default.

    Mail



    Sends an email to you.

    Emails are off by default

    Note: Email notifications are not available for all apps.

    Browser



    Displays a notification on the lower-right corner of your screen even if your browser is minimized. If you use different browsers, you must enable this type of notification separately on each browser.

    Note: When you click OK in the confirmation dialog box, your browser asks you to allow or block the notification. You must allow the notification or they are not displayed.

    Note: The following browsers are supported: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari. Touch devices are not supported.

    Browser notifications are off by default.

  5. From a notification's context menu , you can access the following:

    Mark as Read Marks the notification as read. The notification is greyed.
    Mark As Unread Marks a read notification as unread. The notification is ungreyed.
    Mark as Important Adds a to a notification that you may want to manage later on.

    You can filter notifications that you have marked as important.

    Remove from important Removes the flag from a notification. For example, a notification that you have already managed.
    Open in new tab Opens the target page in a new browser tab.
    Note: This command is not always available.
    Unsubscribe Removes and stop all future notifications of that type from the 3DNotification Center.

    Click to access the following:

      • Unsubscribe for 1 hour. Stops the notifications from the app that triggers them for 1 hour.
      • Unsubscribe indefinitely. Stops the notification from the app that triggers them indefinitely.
    Note: Use the Preferences to re-enable the notification.
    Delete Deletes the selected notification.
    Important: This action cannot be undone.
  6. If a notification contains a user's picture, label, or avatar, click it to access the user's profile.
