Durability Simulation Materials

Project leaders can import "briefcases" of sample material definitions that are well suited to durability simulations. For detailed information about how to use this content, see the apps user's guides.

Content

The table below describes the contents of each material briefcase for durability simulations.

File Name Description
DS-ElasticFatigue.3dxml A set of over 300 materials suited to elastic-fatigue analysis.

The Family label for each material is set to the name of a metal, like Aluminium or Steel.

Only the Elastic-Fatigue behavior is defined per material in the simulation domain.

DS-FKM-Weld.3dxml A set of over 80 materials suited to FKM static strength and fatigue assessments.

The materials are divided into three families: Weld – Aluminium Alloy (Ductile), Weld – Ductile Iron, and Weld – Ductile Iron.
DS-VerityWeldFatigue.3dxml A set of materials that are available to illustrate the S-N curve data hard coded for steel and aluminum welds.

The Family label for each material is set to Weld (Verity).
