Creating a Change Action

You can create a change action in the Change Actions Management widget Summary View. The widget is available in the 3DDashboard.

The summary view shows change actions in which you are the either Owner, an Assignee, an Informed user, or a Approver. Any user may create a change action. Change actions created in either the Change Action Management widget or in Enterprises Change Management for 3DSpace appear in both of these places.

There are two ways to create a change action. The first way lets you enter only the CA title and edit the CA later to add other information. The other way is to provide all the information while you create it.


Before you begin: The Change Actions Management widget must be open in the 3DDashboard.
  1. In the widget, click the Change Action Quick Create icon in the toolbar
  2. Do one of:

    • In the menu, enter the title of the CA and press Enter. The CA is added to the list where you can edit it to add other information.
    • Click New Change Action. The New Change Action window opens.

  3. If you clicked New Change Action, complete the information in the window. Title and Description are required. Select either of:

    • Save as Draft - The CA begins in the Draft state.
    • Begin Work - The CA begins in the In Work state.

The new change action appears at the beginning of the change action list.
