Change Template Lifecycle

In Change Management, a change template lets you create change requests or change orders with default values that ensure that the change request is complete. The change template lifecycle is described below. Anyone with access to a change template can view its lifecycle.

This page discusses:

Inactive

When created, the change template is in the Inactive state and must be promoted to the Active state to be used. When the change template lifecycle is demoted to Inactive, it remains in the database but cannot be used to create change orders. It can later be promoted to Active.

Active

After a template is created, it must be promoted from Inactive to Active to be used. Once a template is active, you can create change orders from it. An active template can be demoted to Inactive.

Obsolete

When the change template lifecycle is promoted to Obsolete, it remains in the database but cannot be used to create change orders. You can later be promote it to Active.
