Adding Dependencies

You can add dependent change objects to other change objects. You can add a simple dependency that is a one-way dependency or a codependency that is a two-way dependency.

Required access role: Only the change order (CO) owner can add and remove dependencies.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Do the following to open the Dependency tab.
  1. From the Change Governance home page, open the required change order.
  2. From the change order identity card, click Information.
  3. Click the Dependency tab.

Add Dependency

You can add a change object with a simple dependency. You can add only a change order or a stand-alone change action. Adding a dependent object creates an upstream dependency.

  1. From the Dependency tab toolbar, click > Add Dependency.
  2. Search for the required change object.
  3. From the search results, select the required change object and click OK.

The selected change object is added with an upstream dependency. is shown next to the dependent object. You can right-click the dependent and select Open With and select an app to open the object.

Add Codependency

You can add a change object with a codependency. You can add only a change order or a stand-alone change action. Adding a codependent object creates an upstream and a downstream dependency.

  1. From the Dependency tab toolbar, click > Add Co-Dependency.
  2. Search for the required change object.
  3. From the search results, select the required change object and click OK.

The selected change object is added with an upstream and a downstream dependency. is shown next to the codependent object. You can right-click the codependent and select Open With and select an app to open the object.

Remove Dependency

You can remove an existing dependency.

Select the required dependent or codependent object and click Remove.

The selected dependency is removed.
