Configuring Custom Change Action Names

By default, change actions have the naming convention ca-xxxxxxxx-yyyyyyyy where 'xxxxxxxx' and 'yyyyyyyy' are 8-digit numeric strings. Administrators can edit this naming convention.

  1. Log in as a VPLM Admin User.
  2. In the Categories list (on the left side of the screen), go to Collaboration and Approvals > Experience Configuration > Manage P&O and Content.
  3. Click the Content button on the toolbar.
  4. Click the Identification tab.
  5. In the Select Type list, select Change Action.
  6. Edit the other fields as needed:

    FieldDescription
    Identifier InterfixEnter the Identifier Interfix. This is the 'xxxxxxxx' numeric string described above.
    SeparatorSelect the character that is between the prefix, interfix, and suffix in the name string.
    PrefixEnter a prefix. 'ca' is the default.
    SuffixEnter a suffix. This is the 'yyyyyyyy' numeric string described above.

  7. Click Apply to save your changes.

    Note: To return to the default settings, click Reset.
