About Functions

In the Functions tab, you can create functions, function instances (also called subfunctions), flows, function ports (also called flow associations), and connections between ports. You can create a hierarchical structure to organize your functions.

Note: If you define your functional net with Functional & Logical Design, only ports created with the Insert New Interface command can be inserted into Embedded Electronics Architecture.

A functional net can be configured and filtered to display only the functional net with a defined effectivity.

The Functions tab displays functions with their ports and connections, and flows.

The Functions tab enables you to:

  • Create functions, flows, and ports, which meet the requirements of your system.
  • Search functions and flows in the database.
  • Expand the functions with their subfunctions, ports, and connections in the tree.
  • View and edit the properties of any object.
  • Open a diagram for a function.
  • Graphically edit a function to create subfunctions and their interfaces.
