About the Routing Constraints of Virtual Links

The routing of virtual links over a network is determined by constraints, which ensure consistency.

Note: With the Avionics Architect (AVARA) role, you can work with Ethernet networks for Avionics.

This page discusses:

These constraints are defined by:

  • Network path: the definition of a route for a virtual link entering the network through a specific switch and exiting it through another specific switch.
  • Network option: a collection of network paths.

Create network path Create a path in the Paths area.

Delete selected paths Delete paths selected in the Paths area if they are not attached to options.

Choose start switch to filter paths In the Choose Switch Filtering Paths dialog box, select the start switch to filter paths.

Choose end switch to filter paths In the Choose Switch Filtering Paths dialog box, select the end switch to filter paths.

Apply or disable filter on displayed paths If a start switch or an end switch to filter paths is selected, you activate or deactivate the filter on displayed paths in the Paths area.

Options Area

In this area, you can perform the following actions:

To attach paths to an option, drag paths onto the option. You can only associate one path from a specific switch to another specific switch.
