Assigning Effectivity

In Electrical & Electronics Architecture, you can apply an effectivity defined in a product configuration to filter a configured architecture.

The following scenario shows you how to assign effectivity to subfunctions of a function. The scenario is identical for the other objects.

Before you begin:
  • Create a function with a subfunction.
  • Associate a product to the function.

Environment: On premises only

  1. Right-click a subfunction and select Enter Effectivity .
  2. To build a logical expression for effectivity, repeat the following:
    1. Press Ctrl+Space.
A list of available elements appears. Depending on the last inserted element in the expression, this list contains one or more elements. These elements can be the product names, the configuration feature names, the product configurations options, and the Boolean operators.
Tip: To narrow the list of suggested elements, enter a substring of the searched element names and press Ctrl+Space. Only element names, which contain the searched substring are displayed.
Note: For more information about rules defining effectivity, see Effectivity Grammar.
    2. Click an element in the list to add it in the expression.

      Notes:
      • The logical expression can be empty.
      • If not empty, the minimal logical expression is composed of a product followed by a configuration feature and an option.

  3. Click Click to validate to validate the expression.
