Creating Data Elements

You can add data elements to sender-receiver interfaces. Data elements are variables, which correspond to transmitted data.

Before you begin: Create a sender-receiver interface. For more information, see Creating Interfaces.
  1. Right-click the sender-receiver interface and select Create Data Element .
  2. Enter these details for the new data element:

    Box Name Action

    Title

    Enter a title.

    Description

    (Optional) Enter a description.

    Data type

    		(Optional) Enter a data type.

    Initial value

    (Optional) Enter an initial value.

    Tip: You can also use Insert Data Elements .

The data element is created and appears under the Software Variables node. A data element instance is created and appears under the sender-receiver interface.
