Creating Options and Paths

You can define constraints for a network.

Note: With the Avionics Architect (AVARA) role, you can work with Ethernet networks for Avionics.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin: Create a network.

Create Paths

You can create network paths for a given network.

  1. Double-click the network.

    Note: You can also right-click the network and select Edit Network .

  2. In the Paths area of the Paths and Options Editor, click Create network path .
  3. In the Create Network Path dialog box:
    1. Select a start switch and an end switch.
      All paths between both switches appear in the Path Proposals area.
    2. Select a path.

All the switches composing the path appear in the Paths area of the Paths and Options Editor.

Create Options

You can create an option for a given network.

  1. Double-click the network.

    Tip: You can also right-click the network and select Edit Network .

  2. In the Options area of the Paths and Options Editor, click Create option .
    An option appears in the Options area.

Attach Paths to an Option

You can attach network paths to an option.

Before you begin:
  • Create an option.
  • Create paths.
  1. Drag a path to an option.

    Tip: Ctrl + select and drag multiple paths to attach them to an option.

    The path is now attached to the option and it appears under the option in the Options area of the Paths and Options Editor.
  2. Drag another path to the same option.
    The path can be attached if it does not have the same entry and exit switches as an already attached path.
