Assigning a Signal to a Preallocation

You can create a mapping from a premapping by assigning a signal.

This scenario describes how to assign a signal for a software allocation. The scenario is identical for a functional allocation.

Before you begin: Create a premapping for a system mapping.
  1. Right-click a premapping and select Assign Signal .

The multistep workflow guides you through the process.

  2. Click Next step until you reach the Preallocation/Allocation step of the workflow.
  3. To finish the mapping, you have two possibilities, in the Preallocation/Allocation step of the workflow:
    PurposeProcedure

An allocation on a bus signal or on a wire

    1. Select Choose system signal by selecting bus or wire mappings.
    2. Click Next step .

    3. In the Channel/Signal step of the workflow, select either of the following:
      • A bus, a matrix, and a bus signal.
      • A wire and optionally a system signal.
Note: For a generic wire, select a Subport producer and a Subport consumer.

An allocation without bus or wire mappings creation

    1. Clear Choose system signal by selecting bus or wire mappings.
    2. Click Next step .

    3. In the Channel/Signal step of the workflow, select a system signal.

The mapping is created and replaces the premapping in the tree.
