Connecting Electrical Devices to Branches
Automatically
You can use the Devices Connection Assistant to automatically
create distant links of the smallest possible length. Those distant links can be created to
connect devices to their nearest branch or to connect devices to branches you
specify.
Important:
The command is not available for splices.
In the work area,
select a product or a device.
In the Devices Connection Assistant panel, selected devices are
listed in a table.
The devices which are not already connected to a branch are checked in the list and are
highlighted in the 3D area.
Under Link, select either of the following:
Mode
Description
Link Auto
Creates the shortest distant link between the checked devices and their nearest
branch.
Link To
Creates the shortest distant link between the checked devices and the branch or
the branches you specify.
Note:
To do so, click a branch or an electrical branch
geometry in the work area.
Under Distance from branch first end, select
either of the following:
Mode
Description
Ratio
Computes the distance between the point on curve and the branch extremity in
Ratio mode.
Length
Computes the distance between the point on curve and the branch extremity in
Length mode.
Click Connect Devices.
Distant links are created and are aggregated under the Engineering
Connections node in the tree.
Tip:
To display the distant links and their length in the 3D area, click
a line in the table.
