About Cables

The Logical to Physical Assistant gives you an overview of the cables in your logical and physical systems. In each column, a value and a symbol appear.

Cable Columns

When you click the Cable tab, the following columns appear.


Column	Description	Symbol
2D Instance	Displays the name of the logical cable. If no logical cable exists for the selected row, the cell is empty.	—
System	Displays the name of the logical harness or logical system in which the logical cable is.
3D Instance	Displays the name of the physical cable. If no physical exists, the cell is empty.
Type	Displays the type or subtype of the physical cable to be created that the L2P_Compute3DCableType business rule retrieves. Note: The physical cable is created with the default type, that is Elec3DCable, when the L2P_Compute3DCableType business rule: Is not active Retrieves an invalid type for the physical cable For more information, see Compute Cable Type (L2P_Compute3DCableType).
Expected 3D Parent	Displays the name of the expected physical parent. The expected physical parent can be: The candidate that the L2P_Compute3DParent business rule returns. For more information, see Compute 3D Physical Reference (L2P_Compute3DReference) The candidate that you selected using Set Parent . For more information, see Selecting Parents.	: th value is retrieved from a logical cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical cable.
3D Parent	Displays the name of the physical parent of the physical cable.	: the value is retrieved. : the 3D Parent is different from the Expected 3D Parent. : the physical parent is missing.
Expected Segregation	Displays the segregation value that comes from the logical cable.	: the value is retrieved from a logical cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical cable.
Current Segregation	Displays the segregation value that comes from the physical cable.	: the Current Segregation is the same as the Expected Segregation. : the Current Segregation is different from the Expected Segregation and that the physical cable has a link to a reference cable. : the Current Segregation is different from the Expected Segregation and the physical cable does not have a link to a reference cable. : no value is retrieved.
Expected External Diameter	Displays the external diameter that comes from the logical cable.	: the value is retrieved from a logical cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical cable.
Current External Diameter	Displays the external diameter that comes from the physical cable.	: the Current External Diameter is the same as the Expected External Diameter. : the Current External Diameter is different from the Expected External Diameter and that the physical cable has a link to a reference cable. : the Current External Diameter is different from the Expected External Diameter and that the physical cable does not have a link to a reference cable. : no value is retrieved.
Expected Bend Radius	Displays the bend radius that comes from the logical cable.	: the value is retrieved from a logical cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical cable.
Current Bend Radius	Displays the bend radius that comes from the physical cable.	: the Current Bend Radius is the same as the Expected Bend Radius. : the Current Bend Radius is different from the Expected Bend Radius and that the physical cable has a link to a reference cable. : the Current Bend Radius is different from the Expected Bend Radius and that the physical cable does not have a link to a reference cable. : no value is retrieved.
Expected Linear Mass	Displays the linear mass that comes from the logical cable.	: the value is the same as the expected value. : no value is retrieved from a logical cable.
Current Linear Mass	Displays the linear mass that comes from the physical cable.	: the Current Linear Mass is the same as the Expected Linear Mass. : the Current Linear Mass is different from the Expected Linear Mass and that the physical cable has a link to a reference cable. : the Current Linear Mass is different from the Expected Linear Mass and that the physical cable does not have a link to a reference cable. : no value is retrieved.
Expected from Device	Displays the name of the physical device or space that comes from the From end of the logical cable.	: the value is retrieved from a logical cable. : no device is found, but a 3DSpace is returned from the logical cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical cable.
Current from Device	Displays the cavity that comes from the From end of the physical conductor.	: the Current from Device is the same as the Expected from Device. : the Current from Device is different from the Expected from Device. : no value is retrieved.
Expected from Cavity	Displays the name of the cavity that comes from: The From end of the logical cable. The L2P_Compute3DPort business rule. For more information, see Compute 3D Port (L2P_Compute3DPort).	: the value is retrieved from a logical cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical cable.
Current from Cavity	Displays the cavity that comes from the From end of the physical conductor.	: the Current from Cavity is the same as the Expected from Cavity. : the Current from Cavity is different from the Expected from Cavity. : no value is retrieved.
Expected to Device	Displays the name of the physical device or space that comes from the To end of the logical cable.	: the value is retrieved from a logical cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical cable.
Current to Device	Displays the 3D space that comes from the To end of the physical cable.	: the Current to Device is the same as the Expected to Device. : the Current to Device is different from the Expected to Device. : the analysis did not retrieve a value.
Expected to Cavity	Displays the name of the cavity that comes from: The To end of the logical cable. The L2P_Compute3DPort business rule. For more information, see Compute 3D Port (L2P_Compute3DPort).	: the value is retrieved from a logical cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical cable.
Current to Cavity	Displays the cavity that comes from the From end of the physical cable.	: the Current to Cavity is the same as the Expected to Cavity. : the Current to Cavity is different from the Expected to Cavity . : no value is retrieved.
Expected from 3D Space	Displays the 3D space that is returned from the From end of the logical device.	: the two 3D spaces that are defined on each end are the same. : the two 3D spaces that are defined on each end are different.
Expected to 3D Space	Displays the 3D space that is returned from the To end of the logical device.	: the two 3D spaces that are defined on each end are the same. : the two 3D spaces that are defined on each end are different.
Current 3D Validation	Displays the validation status of the physical cable.	—
3D Life Cycle	Displays the maturity of the physical cable.	—
Synchronization Status	Displays the state of the selected row. There are five possible states for a row: Synchronized: The logical and physical data are present. An implement link exists between the two sets of data. Not synchronized: missing 2D instance: the logical data is missing. Not synchronized: missing 3D instance: the physical data is missing. Synchronized but 3D is not editable: the physical cable is a tactical cable that you cannot edit. Missing 2D instance, edition is not allowed: only the physical cable exists. The physical cable is a tactical cable that you cannot edit.	Red row: the physical cable is uneditable. Yellow row: either the physical or the logical date is missing. Green row: the synchronization of the row is complete.
Expected 3D Reference	Displays the reference cable to which the physical cable should have a link based on the predefined part number that is assigned on the logical cable. The reference is returned from the datasource that you select when you run the analysis. For more information, see Selecting the Objects to Analyze Using the Logical to Physical Assistant. If the analysis returns: Multiple references, then the L2P_Select3DReference business rule filters the references to return only one reference. For more information, see Select a 3D Physical Reference from Computed 3D References (L2P_Select3DReference). No references, then the L2P_Compute3DReference retrieves a reference. For more information, see Compute 3D Physical Reference (L2P_Compute3DReference).	: the value is returned from the business rule or the datasource. : multiple references are found. : no reference is found.
Current 3D Reference	Displays the reference cable to which the physical cable has a link. The cell is empty if the physical data is missing.	: the Current 3D Reference and the Expected 3D Reference are the same. : the Current 3D Reference and the Expected 3D Reference are different. : the Current 3D Reference is not found.

Commands for Cables

When you click the Cable tab, the following commands are available.


Command	Action	Multiselection	Condition
Set Parent	Lets you select an electrical physical system in the tree or create an electrical physical system to define as the parent of the physical cable. For more information, see Selecting Parents.		—
Auto Place	Creates the physical cables based on the attributes in the Expected... and Type columns of the Logical to Physical Assistant panel. Auto Place also creates the implement links between your logical and physical cables.		This command is available if you select rows in the Expected 3D Parent exists. For more information, see Selecting Parents.
Delete	Deletes the physical cables and the links that existed between these physical cables and their corresponding logical cables.		This command is available if you select a row in which a physical cable exists.
Synchronize	Updates the attributes of the physical cable in the selected row. During the synchronization, the L2P_ValidateConductorRoute business rule verifies whether the physical cables form a valid route. If the route is: Valid, then the validation status of the physical cables appears as In Revision. Invalid, the route is deleted, and you have to route your network again. For more information, see Validate Cable Route (L2P_ValidateCableRoute). For more information, see Synchronizing the Attributes of the Physical Objects.		This command is available if you select a row in which an editable physical cable exists.
Synchronize with major revision	Turns the physical cables that are in Released state into physical cables that you can synchronize. The synchronization is the same as the synchronization that happens when you click Synchronize . For more information, see Synchronizing the Attributes of the Physical Objects.		This command is available if you select a row in which a physical cable exists with a 3D Life Cycle defined as Released.
Set 3D Reference	Lets you select an Expected 3D Reference of type Elect3DCableReference from the selected option of search. For more information, see Selecting 3D References.		—
Reconcile	Creates an implement link between a logical and a physical cable. Reconcile has two modes: automatic and manual. In both cases, the candidates respect the following mandatory criteria: The candidates come from the first ref-ref implement link context. The candidates have no existing links to any objects. Another optional criteria applies for an automatic reconciliation: the name of the object matches with the name of the candidate. For manual reconciliation, if a predefined part number exists, then the predefined part number of the logical object must match with the part number of the physical object. In the case of multiple candidates, the L2P_ComputePhysical business rule filters the results to return only one candidate. For more information, see Compute Physical Candidate for Reconcile (L2P_ReconcileWithPhysical) and Create an Implement Link.		This command is available if you select a row in which no implement link exists between your logical and physical objects.
Delete Links	Deletes the links that exist between a logical cable and a physical cable. The links that it deletes are: The implement links between a logical cable and a physical cable. The feature links between a logical cable and a physical cable. For more information, see Delete an Implement Link.		This command is available if you select a row in which an implement link or a feature link exists.
Change Parent	Moves the physical cable from the Current 3D Parent to the Expected 3D Parent. For more information, see Assigning New Parents to Physical Objects.		This command is available if you select rows in which: The physical cable exists. The Expected 3D Parent and 3D Parent of the selected row are different.
Replace	Replaces the Current 3D Reference with the Expected 3D Reference. For more information, see Replacing 3D References. Note: The attributes of your physical cables remain the same when you use Replace .		This command is available if you select rows in which: The physical cable exists. The Current 3D Reference and Expected 3D Reference of the selected row are different.
Routing Assistant	Lets you route your physical cables. When you exit Routing Assistant , all of your modifications are saved.		This command is available if you select a row in which a physical cable exists.
